New York State Police officers, Sergeant Terry Sullivan, left, and Troopers Greg Derick and Charlene Daniels, right, work among the 44,000 pounds of steel reinforcing rods spilled from the truck driven by Randall D Allison of Savannah, N.Y. The truck landed in the yard of Janet and Ken Gordinier's house at the intersection of West Creek Road and New York State Route 79, about 2 1/2 miles east of the Tompkins-Tioga county line after failing to negotiate the curve in Route 79.
